Pay It Forward This November: Support Clackamas Service Center Through Portland Cider Co.

The holidays can be a joyful time, but they can also place extra strain on families facing hardship. A full pantry, a warm meal, or a bag of groceries can make all the difference.

So, Portland Cider Co. is kicking off this season of giving by supporting our neighbors at Clackamas Service Center (CSC)—quite literally our neighbors, since we share a parking lot! All month long, you can pay it forward at Clackamas Taproom by adding any donation amount to your tab. Every dollar goes directly to CSC’s 2025 Give!Guide campaign, and your donation earns you a $2 discount on a pint of cider!

In addition to monetary contributions, we’re hosting a non-perishable food and essentials drive throughout November. A donation station is now set up in the taproom, and our team will deliver everything directly to CSC’s Food Hub.

The most-needed items include:

• Cereals
• Rice
• Canned soup and stews
• Milk (shelf-stable)
• Peanut butter
• Canned meat & tuna
• Oil
• Toothpaste
• Granola bars
• Ramen
• Snack foods
• Applesauce and fruit cups

Your generosity supports people in our community who are experiencing hunger, housing insecurity, or crisis. And every donation truly counts.

Why This Matters: Hunger in Oregon Is Rising

Across Oregon, hunger has become a daily reality for many families. According to the Oregon Food Bank:

  • One in ten Oregonians experiences food insecurity.

  • One in eight children lives in a food-insecure household.

  • As housing costs, inflation, and stagnant wages collide, Oregon Food Bank has seen record demand, with more than 1.9 million visits to food assistance sites in the past year alone.

CSC plays a crucial role in meeting this need. Their Food Hub, built in collaboration with Oregon Food Bank, distributes millions of pounds of food annually to community members and to partner organizations across the region. Beyond food, CSC provides hygiene supplies, medical access, mail services, warming and cooling spaces, and crisis support. They’re meeting people exactly where they are.

How Portland Cider Guests Can Help

  1. Add a donation of any amount to your tab.
This month, ordering your favorite cider also means supporting families in our community through CSC’s Give!Guide campaign.

  2. Bring non-perishable donations to the taproom.
If you’re coming in for a flight, grabbing a pint, or picking up cans, bring a bag of shelf-stable staples or personal care items.

  3. Spread the word.
Tell a friend. Share our posts. Encourage coworkers to pitch in. Small actions add up quickly.

This November, join us in lifting up the people who call this region home.

Stop by the Clackamas Taproom, support CSC, and help nourish our community—one cider at a time.
